Notes for Guidance

The application form is intended to supply the University with essential information concerning the use of University resources to publish material on the World Wide Web. If you undertake responsibility for a new server which is outside the publishing provision made available through IT Services it is essential that you inform IT Services of this promptly.

Most of the information required is straightforward. When describing the purpose of your server please give as much detail as possible. You should include any market research on the demand for the server, projected usage, audience and a clear statement of the method by which information will be published and maintained.

It is essential that you read thoroughly the Loughborough University Computing / IT Acceptable Use Policy and the Code of Practice for Online Publications.
