Unsupported Instructions for Linux

The following guide has been written using Ubuntu 11.04, and is provided on a "best efforts" basis only. Other Linux distributions will differ slightly in the location of the Applications.

Step 1: Set Up your Network Connection.

You need to configure your computer to communicate on the network.

Step 2: Antivirus software.

You must run up-to-date antivirus software on your computer.

Step 3: Setting Up IT Services Printers.

Follow these instructions to configure the charged print /copy devices IT-Mono and IT-Colour.

Step 4: Access Filestore.

Your Individual File Store (U: drive) is a central area of data storage provided for students. It is accessible from Computer Laboratories on campus (as the Documents folder) and from the Hall Network Service HallNet.

It is also very useful for backing up your vital course work.
