Visiting Other eduroam sites

A list of participating HEIs can be found on the JANET Roaming web site. You may need check with staff at the site that you will be visiting to find out what eduroam facilities are available there. In the long term it is hoped that there will be information on the web at each site explaining the services on offer and how they can be used by visitors. Operational Status information is also available for many of the eduroam participants.

Once you are at the remote site you will be prompted for your eduroam username and password. You should use your normal Loughborough username (e.g. "ccpips") followed by "@lboro.ac.uk" and then your normal Active Directory login password. Note that even though this contains an @ sign, it is not your e-mail address, it is your login name (two character department code followed by initials and perhaps a number) followed by "@lboro.ac.uk".

You should follow any local instructions issued by the computing service at the institute that you are visiting regarding security, access restrictions and acceptable use policies. Note that you are also still bound by the Loughborough University Acceptable Use Policy. Where the policies and regulations differ, the most restrictive applies.

Once authenticated you should usually have access to at least web browsing. This will allow you to access your Loughborough e-mail via our staff webmail or student webmail services. You can also access other web based Loughborough resources such as the Learn server, the Library Catalogue Plus and Athens authenticated databases. As a guest you will not normally have access to the visited institution's facilities such as applications, printing, etc.
