Two kinds of social policy research take place in the Department: -policy research that is directly commissioned by stakeholders from the government and the policy sector and coordinated in the Centre for Research in Social Policy, and in the Centre for Children and Families Research (CCFR) - ongoing research that focuses particularly on the position of children, women and ethnic groups.  Of special relevance is:
