Postgraduate Research Student Conference 2011-03-02

Over 40 students attend our successful  conference. There was a really stimulating keynote presentation from Dr Louise Grove who warned us all to just ‘make our PhD good enough’! Louise shared some really useful tips.

Then came the great presentations from some of our fellow students: Brian Callam analysed the history of Israel; Nour Sheim looked at media coverage of the Gaza conflict; Georgie Payne introduced us to the moral panic model; Carrie Childs shared her results on the theory of the mind; Rowena dicussed the doing of lesbian identity; and last but not least Rona Trandberg shared some of her data on perioperative teamwork.

There was a very lively debate and question session after the presentations, and over tea and coffee at the end.

A very good and stimulating event – already looking forward to next year!
