The second National Student Survey polled finalists at all universities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and some in Scotland in 2006. Physical Science at Loughborough (comprising all courses offered by the Physics and Chemistry departments) obtained the highest rating for physical science departments in all seven categories (see table) and remain in the top four of all subjects at all universities (compared with our first place in 2005). How we compare with other physics departments

In second place is physical science at the Open University (average score 4.26).
"RANK ORDER" is position out of 46 universities offering physical science
"SCORE" is the average response on a scale of 1 to 5
This follows the score of 23/24 obtained by Physics in the earlier External Subject Review.
Some testimonials from our graduates help explain how we got there.
