Materials cricket team 2011 campaign

Once again the all conquering Materials cricket team took to the field for this years interdepartmental competition.
The team, who won the competition last year (2010), had high hopes for a repeat performance, but despite some strong performances they were beaten in this year's semi-final by Wolfson, Electrical & Computer science, who went on to win the competition.

Match Scores:
1st match: Materials vs Holywell. Holywell batted first and made 110 runs and Materials chased the target and won in 11 overs with 3 wickets down.
2nd match: Materials vs Wolfson. Wolfson made 142 runs and Materials lost by 15 runs.
3rd match: Materials vs Student union. Student union batted first and made 124 runs and Materials chased and won in 8 overs.
Semifinal: Materials vs Wolfson, Electrical & Computer science. Wolfson, Electrical & Computer science batted first and made 174 runs and we lost by 19 runs.
