Huseyin’s research focused on Through Life Enterprise Knowledge Management jointly sponsored by EPSRC and BAE Systems. Huseyin has achieved a distinction for the taught MSc modules of his EngD programme and also been awarded the Graduate School Research Student Prize 2010 for his outstanding academic performance and academic achievement. He has 12 academic papers, over 25 BAE Systems internal reports, and actively participates in scholarly services including session chairing, programme committee involvement and paper reviewing.
Prior to EngD, Huseyin was employed as a Higher Scientist within the Knowledge Management group of the Human Factors department at BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre. He was a project and task manager on various EU collaborative projects i.e. FP6 OASIS (Open Advanced System for Disaster and Emergency Management) and FP7 COPE (Common Operational Picture Exploitation). Huseyin has also worked as a part-time Lecturer at the College of North East London (CONEL) teaching Computer Literacy and Information Technology, and Beginners Computing courses. He received the best UK Online Centre award for his teaching and management efforts competing with over 900 centres in London.
Huseyin has an MSc in Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics from University College London and a BSc in Computer Science from Queen Mary, University of London. While at UCL, Huseyin was selected by the Microsoft Learning team in Redmond, WA, USA, to work on an MSc project that investigated how the interface of an interactive e-learning system can be utilised to improve learning and navigation.

Current research
Through Life Enterprise Knowledge Management, jointly sponsored by EPSRC and BAE Systems through the Systems Engineering Doctorate Centre (SEDC)
The primary aim of this EngD research is to investigate and identify improvements for managing knowledge within the context of capability engineering. This involves activities such as contextualising and developing an understanding of the problem situation; examining the activities necessary to transform a multi-organisational enterprise; and developing a sector-independent “management of knowledge” approach to support capability engineering. The exploitation route involves embedding and disseminating the results through the company and enterprise processes. The deliverables from this will be a set of publications, guidance notes and an information model, integrated within the capability engineering activity model, for mapping information and knowledge to the processes relevant to the capability support business.
