BERR helps ensure business success in an increasingly competitive world. It is the voice for business across Government. This website provides information about BERR's priorities and policies. BERR and its delivery partners also provide a range of practical assistance to business. (Replacement for the Department of Trade and Industry, which no longer exists.)
Health and Safety Executive are interested in the health and safety of people at work - that includes people who may be harmed by the way work is done (for example because they live near a factory, or are passengers on a train). In some situations, we are also concerned with the way work affects the environment.
Office of Public Sector Information
Operating from within the National Archives, the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) is at the heart of information policy, setting standards, delivering access and encouraging the re-use of public sector information. OPSI provides a wide range of services to the public, information industry, government and the wider public sector relating to finding, using, sharing and trading information. (The Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI) has grown out of Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO).)
